The Meathooks were chosen as one of the top 5 bands in the Homegrown Spotlight on New Jersey's largest rock radio station 105.5 WDHA FM!

Formed in 2003 by James Vilade and Brian Wilson, The Meathooks originally started out as an acoustic duo;a desired shift in sound and direction, however, prompted the founding two members to expand into a four-piece, thus, recruiting bass player Steve Babula and drummer Kevin Barry.Their music, a potent blend of rock, funk and blues rounded out with ambient guitars and an overall feel of floatiness, is one that instantly draws you in until you’re hooked! Celebrating the recent release of their full-length, No End In Sight, this groovy quartet will be performing at NYC’s Bitter End on Sept.12. Many of the songs on No End In Sight are primarily instrumental-or so they seem. With trance-like intros that go on for miles, it takes a while sometimes for the words to come into play, but once they do, the songs become fuller and sound more complete, or meaty, if you will. All four members have been band hopping around the scene for quite some time now, having all begun playing their specific instruments as teens. 04.27.08 | The Meathooks new album coming soon!
We've been hard at work all winter working on our new CD "No End In Sight..." 7 of the 8 tracks are just about finished and 1 more to go. The expected release date is late June 2008. We are very excited for all of you to listen to it! We couldn't be happier with the new songs. A HUGE thanks to Steve B. for all his hard work and time!!!

The disc is being recorded at Stephen Michael Studios in Rockaway,NJ and is being co-produced by Steve Babula and Brian Wilson. Steve will be doing the mixing sessions for the band... The mastering sessions will be taking place at "Right on Recording" in Baltimore, MD. The CD will be available for purchase on iTunes, our website, at gigs, and at select stores.
